Start the program

Late February

Crabgrass pre-emergent

A barrier that stops crabgrass before it sprouts, and an early feeding to wake the lawn up.

April

Spring feeding and weed control

Dandelions, clover and wild onion treated where they grow, and a feeding for the spring push.

Late May

A second barrier, and grubs

A second pre-emergent for summer, weed control, and grub prevention before the beetles lay eggs.

July

Summer spot treatments

Weeds and insects treated where they show up, and no heavy feeding while fescue is heat-stressed.

September

Starter fertilizer and new seed

Fed for germination alongside fall aeration and overseeding, the visit that rebuilds the lawn.

November

Winterizer

A late feeding that goes to the roots, so the lawn comes out of winter green and thick.

One fall of aeration and seed.

Most Charlotte yards sit on compacted red clay. Core aeration opens it up, and new tall fescue goes straight into the holes. This backyard in Matthews went from March to October.

What the neighbors say.

“They come on Tuesday. Every Tuesday. I haven't thought about the yard in two years, which was the whole point.”

Lauren, Myers Park

“Our backyard was red clay and crabgrass. One fall of aeration and seed, and now the neighbors ask who we use.”

Marcus, Matthews

“I paused service with one text while we were on vacation, and they picked right back up. No fee, no runaround.”

Crews mow Monday to Friday. A rained-out visit moves to the next dry day, and we text you when it does.

What everyone asks first.

Anything else, call or text. Renée answers the phones from 7am.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. You pay after each visit, and you can pause or cancel any time with a text. Most of our customers have stayed for years anyway.

Do I need to be home?

No. Leave the gate unlocked and the dog inside. We text the evening before, and send a photo of the finished lawn when the crew leaves.

Are the treatments safe for kids and pets?

Keep everyone off the grass until it's dry, usually an hour or two. We leave a small flag in the yard and text you when we're done.

What happens when it rains?

Your visit moves to the next dry day, and we text you when it does. We don't treat a lawn right before heavy rain; it would wash away.

When should I aerate and overseed?

For tall fescue, the lawn most Charlotte yards have, it's September to mid-October. Bermuda and zoysia lawns are aerated in late spring instead. Fall dates fill by Labor Day.
